DEBORAH HANDLER, MLIS

As school librarian, I get the privilege to see all students, teachers, and staff. I have a strong passion for libraries and maker spaces, and the chance to see the changes libraries are bringing to our students. The library is the hub of the school, there is so much to see, and so much to do!

Who am I?

I live in Deerfield with my husband and three kids (14,12, 6). I love spending time with them playing games, reading as a family, or just talking about our day. When I have time, I like to go for long walks, go to the gym and WERQ, go to yoga or meditate, crochet a hat or blanket, and shop for shoes.

My favorite author is Patricia Polacco and I am embarrassed to say that I have spent hours in line waiting to meet her on her farm.

I also love YA fiction, especially realistic fiction and historical fiction.

JODY CORNELIUS

As  a school library aide, I get the ability to wear many hats. I check out books, help with technology, and see all the children of the school.

Who am I?

I live in Lindenhurst, IL with my wife, my two sons (Henry and Ian), my two dogs (Link and Zelda), and my two axolotls (Axie and Mudkip). I love reading, hiking, and Nintendo. I played bass guitar in a band in Chicago for five years, before I had kids. I would like to start playing again when my kids are a bit older. My life's dream is to do a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.

My favorite books are The Last Unicorn, by Peter S. Beagle, and The Time Machine, by H. G. Wells.
